This is something I, technically, should be doing at least once a month. One of the three medications I take daily requires constant monitoring to maintain a specific level in my blood. If there’s too much of it my body reacts badly, too little and it doesn’t work. It’s pretty simple. This was the first time I’ve had the test in two years. Sometimes pessimism is built on faith as well…
I love the reaction from nurses and dentists when I pull my camera out… over the past few months I’ve used my little pocket-digital camera to film a tooth-extraction, I’ve taken photos of a dental hygienist cleaning my teeth, taken photos of two teeth being removed and now this bloodletting, and every time they’ve smiled like I was a slightly retarded six-year old with a crayon and napkin asking them to draw a smiley face. So far they’ve played along wonderfully.
The great thing aboot shooting in those kinds of places is the light is always great…

ugh. I get blood taken every 6 months for the last 8 years, plus whenever some stupid blood sugar thing flares up. I have never been able to watch it come out of me without feeling nausea.
On the Xbox, it’s another story.

OUCHIE. I find it so difficult to look at that picture! When I was on Lithium I HATED the bloodletting. I never got used to it. I’m not on Lithium anymore (doing well w/ anothermed) but toward the end of my use of it my thyroid had been negatively affected. Hence my getting off of Lithium and onto another med–Zyprexa, which has worked for me.

Robot: have you tried Manhunt on the XBox? On the PS2 it has to be one of the coolest bloodletting games out there…
Clare: my doctor has been after me for a long, long time to get back into the bloodletting… it has never been something which has bothered me, but there’s always been a mental block between me and getting better. I’m really glad you found a med which works for you…
